Combat newspaper from 1944 - 1

After years of truly underground publishing, the Combat resistance group seized a printing press in the capital as the insurrection to push out the Germans got underway after the Allies broke out of the Cherbourg peninsula. This was their first issue, August 21, 1944, out on the streets the evening of the first day of fighting in the city. Editor Camus wrote two front-page pieces: "The Struggle Continues" and "From Resistance to Revolution."
